The “History of Art” section, member of the Cultural Circle, organizes conferences, guided visits to exhibitions in Luxembourg and cultural journeys.
The annual subscription is 25 Euros for the members of European institutions, 31 Euros for others and 15 Euros for students.
It covers the cost of the conferences and visits in Luxemburg.
The Committee comprises six members.
Nathalie Becker and Corinne Kohl give, in alternation, one conference a month, always on Tuesday at 20h in the JMO building.
The topics are mostly related to the journeys.
Nathalie comments also on about five exhibitions a year in Luxemburg, in March “the Age of Symbolism in Latvia” at the MNAH.
This year, the section organizes eight journeys: after the visit in February of the exhibition “the Celts” at the Völklinger Hütte and the one in March of the “Tefaf The European Fine Arts Fair” in Maastricht, we shall go four days in Budapest, a week-end in Paris with the visit of several exhibitions among which “Manet”, four days in Munich, a round-trip of four days in Castile-Leon, a week-end in Brussels for Europalia Brazil and one day in Trier at Christmas time.
